MANIFESTO
Welcome to the death (re)evolution!
The Psychedelic Death Summit is both a prayer and a program, a movement to (re)evolutionize death by restoring love, dignity, equity, and presence to how we live and die.
We are here to co-create a world where death is honored as a sacred threshold– where dying is woven back into the fabric of daily living and the end of life is approached with love, dignity, grace, beauty, curiosity, and awe.
We know that (re)evolutionizing death is not the work of a single event, human or even a single lifetime. It’s a collective, intergenerational devotion, a living prayer for how we walk each other home.
We imagine a world…
Where death is honored. Where sanctuary community spaces are as available as Starbucks, to offer guidance and support– openly and freely, designed to meet and greet anxiety and fears of death and dying. Where the process of dying is lived with grace, love, curiosity, and the safety to meet whatever arises– even and especially the hard parts. Where death is woven back into our lives as an integral part of the evolution of our consciousness. Where death is regarded as the great teacher it is. Where we approach death and dying so fully and richly that living itself becomes ever more rich, loving and beauty-filled. Where we can openly grieve knowing it is a measure of our love. Where we learn to hold each other and walk each other home.
We remember that every moment is an invitation to prepare for our body’s inevitable death and our soul’s infinite journey– and that psychedelics, when held with care, are profound allies on this path. Because psychedelics can help us practice greater presence, open to awe, soften the grip of fear, and return home to ourselves (as nature), they can show us how to “die before we die” so that we can actually live more fully.
We are here to restore compassion, connection, and consciousness to how we meet death, dying, and living. We weave equity, trauma-awareness, cultural respect, and the wisdom of the more-than-human world into every space. We hold safety, spiritual care, and the great mystery alongside healing, awe, and joy.
We honor the wisdom of the more-than-human world, Indigenous elders, land stewards, psychedelic wisdom keepers, storytellers, artists, clinicians, doulas, midwives, grief tenders, trauma-informed facilitators, and scientists to bridge ancestral ways and modern science, ceremony and research, prayer and practice.
WE COMMIT TO
Convene spaces that cultivate safety, flourishing, and beauty
Center voices historically excluded from end-of-life care and psychedelic research, particularly BIPOC, Indigenous, and marginalized communities whose wisdom and experience are essential
Create open-access resources and education that integrate science, spirit, and culture, ensuring accessibility across diverse communities
Honor grief as an individual and collective teacher
Build a living database and ecosystem that connects practitioners, caregivers, researchers, and community members
Tend to legacy storytelling so that teachings ripple into the collective field
We weave a living ecosystem where generosity and reciprocity seed enduring abundance. These pillars root our work, guide our collaborations, and nourish a movement designed to grow in reach, impact, and capacity for the benefit of all beings.
our core pillars
Kinship as Currency: Relationships are our true wealth. We weave trust and respect into every exchange, knowing authentic connection generates its own momentum and shared prosperity.
Reciprocity in Action: Resources, wisdom, and opportunities circulate widely, returning in greater measure.
Regenerative Growth: Like all thriving ecosystems, we expand through cycles of giving, integrating, and reseeding.
Embodied Equity: Inclusion is our root. Voices across cultures, identities, and lived experiences are integral and uplifted.
Living Legacy: We invest in work that endures: relationships that deepen, tools that remain accessible, stories that continue to reach and teach.
Feminine Flow, Strategic Reach: We trust emergent design while tending strategic structures that sustain growth.
Abundance in Alignment: We resource in integrity, allowing generosity and vision to fuel an ever-expanding circle of impact.
We plant seeds that will flourish for future generations. We measure our success in the alliances formed, the lives touched, and the enduring projects and practices that grow from this work.
We root our work in the places where we gather, tending to the communities that hold us and weaving the wisdom of local organizations on the ground. We learn from each other’s shared knowledge so that what is cultivated in one place may nourish and flourish in many.
We know that (re)evolutionizing death is not the work of a single event or even a single lifetime.
It is a collective, intergenerational devotion, a living prayer for how we walk each other home.
